The much-anticipated release of Stranger Things season five, which will be the final installment of the hit sci-fi show, is just days away. But, rather than focus being on the plotline or the characters, viewers are more interested in what's going on between the real-life cast, specifically David Harbour and Millie Bobby Brown.

Fans noticed David's absence from the Stranger Things season five press tour, speculating whether it had anything to do with his ex, Lily Allen, or his co-star Millie (more on the reasons why in a moment). But, according to a source who spoke to E! News, David never intended to take part in the press tour, nor was he ever confirmed to do so. That's because, per Deadline, David is currently in production for a new movie called Evil Genius.

Despite his apparently busy schedule, David found time to attend the Stranger Things season five premiere in Los Angeles on November 6. The actor, who plays Hopper on the hit show, walked the red carpet and posed for photos with his co-stars, including Millie.

ICYMI (how!?), David has been in the spotlight in recent weeks, and it all started when his ex-wife, Lily Allen, released her first album in seven years. In West End Girl, she sings about infidelity and a marriage breakdown, and many listeners have speculated the album is about her divorce from David, although this has not been confirmed or denied by either of the two. Lily has, however, said that the album is a “mixture of fact and fiction” and should not be taken as the “gospel truth.”

Unfortunately for David, things did not quieten down after the release of Lily's album. Instead, the Daily Mail reported that his co-star, Millie, had allegedly filed a complaint to Netflix against him for bullying and harassment. “Millie  Bobby  Brown filed a harassment and bullying claim before they started shooting the last season,” a source alleged. “There were pages and pages of accusations. The investigation went on for months.”

As a result of the alleged complaint, there was an internal Netflix investigation (the outcome of which is unknown), and claims that Millie was accompanied by a personal representative on set during the filming of the final Stranger Things season, which wrapped in December 2024.

It's no wonder, then, that fans thought all of this had something to do with his press tour absence. But, if the E! News insider is to be believed, the real reason David skipped out on this has nothing to do with Lily or Millie.
